The study seeks to demonstrate the university student's perception of their digital competencies in the formal educational context. For this, a quantitative, descriptive, transversal and non-experimental research was carried out; The population is made up of 220 students from the Public Accounting and Bachelor of Administration programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences (FACEM) at the National University of Canindeyú (UNICAN), Curuguaty Branch in the 2024 school year; and the sample is 168 students. As a data collection technique, a closed-type electronic questionnaire with a Likert scale was implemented. Among the main results, it was found that university students have a heterogeneous perception regarding the development of the different areas of digital competence, but in general the level of mastery of the six dimensions of the digital competences studied presents a “fairly effective” level. ; Even so, in Dimension 1 “Digital Literacy” and Dimension 4 “Communication and Collaboration” a greater relationship is observed between the general data of the student's sex, age and major. After the COVID-19 pandemic, university students, in general, report many digital practices that they have learned autonomously, through interaction with other subjects, with resources from the web and from experiences, personal skills of trial and error, but these skills are not always transferred to the academic field. Finally, some proposals are presented as axes for future research related to the digital competencies of the university student.
